About

About the Caramels

We are a family owned and run company with the mission to create for you a small, unique and incredibly tasty treat that keeps you coming back for more; but, at the same time, ensure that quality is never compromised and every life along the supply chain was treated and paid fairly.  We hope to live our lives and build a company in such a way, that our footprint on our planet is minimal but the love that we leave is large.  We hope that you keep us in mind for gifts, parties, wedding favors, etc.  We typically have six different flavors made every week and they change with the seasons, but, we are always happy to do a special order.

About The Maker

As a child, I have fond memories of evenings spent watching my mom make dinner and without much explanation, learning all of her techniques and recipes. As a nutritionist, she put a heavy emphasis on quality over quantity, organic and humanely produced and raised food. Here stemmed my passion for quality, homemade and unique foods. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BA in Psychology. Right out of college, I married my boyfriend of 4 years and set out on my journey of finding "the perfect job" working with people and making a difference in kids lives. I jumped around in various non profits and eventually found myself extremely burnt out and pregnant. After a job change and the arrival of our daughter and a few years later, our son, we decided that staying home with our children was the best decision for our family. Although creating things from scratch was always a joy for me, this shift provided (almost out of necessity to cut spending), me an outlet and more time to spend on creating things. In December of 2012, I made my first batch of apple cider caramels. From there, I have modified and developed my own recipes, learned by trial and error about the chemistry of candy making and have sadly scrapped many batches in order to find the perfect ratios of ingredients.

Today, my 7 year old daugther helps to count caramels and teaches me to expereience beauty in every moment, my 5 year old son provides constant commentary and a precious face and my husband often helps to be the face of Wildflower when my sometimes introverted side gets the best of me.
